A mortar round reportedly hit a Delta Air Lines flight during landing at Chicago Midway International Airport over the weekend. The good news is, there are no fatalities to report because it was "just" a 4th of July firework, not a weapon of war, NBC Chicago reports. The pilots were also able to land the plane without any issues, but the Federal Aviation Administration still plans to investigate the incident. You know, because you really aren't supposed to shoot fireworks at airplanes. The FAA really doesn't like it when you do that.

Alfa Romeo has confirmed the gas-powered Giulia (seen above) will be revamped in the coming years with an electric powertrain. We expect the base version will make around 350 horsepower, while the Veloce will produce closer to 800 horsepower. The top-of-the-line Giulia will continue to carry the historic Quadrifoglio name and should make upward of 1000 horsepower. The new Giulia will be produced on the Stellantis Group's STLA Large platform, with 800-volt, ultra-rapid charging and a range of up to 500 miles. Recent rumors suggest the Giulia, like the Dodge Charger, will also be offered with combustion engines. —Jack Fitzgerald

A tropical storm has killed two people, caused dam breaches and forced tens of thousands to evacuate in southern China.
Typhoon Maysak killed two people in Nanning, in China’s southern Guangxi province. Maysak, which lashed Vietnam and China’s southern island province of Hainan over the weekend, will dump the water it sucked up on its way across the South China Sea as it weakens and heads inland, meteorologists say.
