St Mirren manager Craig McLeish has been charged by the Scottish FA over comments he made about referee Sean Murdoch.
It followed their League Cup tie against Dunfermline last week, where McLeish was frustrated that a free-kick went against his side in the first half, which resulted in a goal being disallowed, before a penalty was awarded to their opponents in the closing stages.
Chelsea have completed the signing of Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace in a deal worth £51m.
The 26-year-old central defender has signed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge. Lacroix's arrival takes the club's spending to beyond £250m this summer.
Mark Butcher has criticised the decision to reappoint Joe Root as England captain, describing his return to the position as "a retrograde step" for the Test side.
The England and Wales Cricket Board announced on Thursday that Root will reclaim the position he gave up to Ben Stokes in 2022, while former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming was also confirmed as Brendon McCullum's replacement as Test head coach.
Ryan and his wife are from Nashville, and they adopt retired racing greyhounds. They tried to get a cheap dog hauler with a 2008 Chevy Uplander, but that didn't pan out. Ryan wants to trade his AMG sedan for something that can move the pups in comfort, but is still a reasonably fun car to drive. With a budget up to $70,000, what car should he buy?
Innovation is often framed as a technology challenge. But for many IT leaders, the much trickier problem is introducing new capabilities without disrupting the business. As organizations refresh aging devices and adopt AI PCs, continuity, compatibility, security and manageability are just as essential as raw performance.

Using whole-lysosome patch-clamp recording, the researchers directly measured ion currents from individual lysosomes and found that O-linked sugar chains act as a molecular brake on the ion channel TPC2. Lysosomes are small compartments inside cells that break down and recycle biological materials. Once regarded mainly as cellular waste-disposal centers, lysosomes are now understood to be important signaling hubs for calcium and sodium ions. Through these signals, they help regulate intracellular transport, organelle shape and cellular responses associated with disease.
Google's next foldable doesn't look all that different, save for the camera bar.

Google's next Made By Google event is fast approaching on August 12, and as is tradition, new devices are leaking almost as aggressively as Google's teasing them. Case in point: new marketing images of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold from leaker Evan Blass, which show off one of the upcoming foldable's new colors and a mysterious new camera bar feature Google just hinted at in its own advertising yesterday.

A 113-million-year-old marine murder mystery may finally be solved. Using chemical clues locked inside microscopic fossils, Northwestern University scientists found evidence that ocean acidification drove one of the largest extinction events in the history of planktic foraminifera—tiny shell-building organisms that help regulate Earth's carbon cycle.
