There are only two seasons, but they’re both fantastic

Ever since I watched the original cartoon series on Saturday mornings back in the 1990s, I’ve been a fan of The Tick. That show — which starred voice actor Townsend Coleman as the Big Blue Bug of Justice — was the perfect example of really smart writing for a really dumb character, making it not only hilariously silly for children, but the perfect show to rewatch as an adult.

European astronomers have conducted optical and radio observations of an enigmatic radio source designated GRS 0917+75. As a result, they found that GRS 0917+75 is a giant radio galaxy and determined its properties. The new findings were published July 3 on the preprint server arXiv.

Archaeological work conducted at the Coves del Fem (Ulldemolins, Priorat)—located within the Serra de Montsant Natural Park—between May 30 and June 28, 2026, has yielded important new evidence for understanding the prehistory of the northeastern Iberian Peninsula. The campaign was conducted by a team of researchers from the Department of Prehistory at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Milà i Fontanals Institution for Research in the Humanities of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC-IMF).

‘Legend of Korra’ Concert Experience to Tour in 2027 for ‘Last Airbender’ Sequel’s 15th Anniversary

Following the ongoing “Avatar: The Last Airbender in Concert,” Paramount has set a similar tour pegged to the 15th anniversary of “The Legend of Korra.”

Produced in partnership with GEA Live and Senbla, “The Legend of Korra In Concert” will begin in January with two concurrent legs, touring across more than 20 cities in the U.S. and 10 cities in Europe. Described by Paramount as a “live-to-picture orchestral experience that “combines live music with cinematic visuals,” the shows will feature high definition projections of major scenes from “The Legend of Korra” in chronological order backed by a symphony that pulls from composer Jeremy Zuckerman’s score. Exclusive merchandise will also be available for purchase at the tour stops.

"For the longest time, we went one by one," Ata Sergey Nowak, co-founder of Torpor Games, the studio behind strategy game Suzerain, tells me, explaining the four year gap between the game's release and its first DLC. "Our games take a long time, our staff was very limited, and our financing was very project-to-project." So it was a little surprising he was also telling me Torpor are today announcing not one but three new projects - two DLCs and a spin-off. All of which are due to be released before their next flagship title, The Conformist.

Ekko Astral Say Goodbye, For Now

J ust two years ago, D.C. punk band Ekko Astral felt on top of the world. Their debut album, Pink Balloons, struck a chord with young Americans watching the 2024 election unfold into a repeat nightmare, and made waves well beyond their local scene; it was sad, hilarious, and invigorating, all at the same time. Ekko’s success landed them opening slots for Jeff Rosenstock and PUP, then sent them back in the studio to make a new record they called The Beltway is Burning. They didn’t know how to make sense of it all. All they knew was that it felt awesome.
