It's official: 2026 might just be the year of the RPG. This summer saw the releases of Beast of Reincarnation and Mistfall Hunter, among others. Only a few weeks into fall, Onimusha: Way of the Sword and The Blood of Dawnwalker have both launched to mostly positive reviews. Still to come are remasters of beloved titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, with enhanced visuals and new features, and a Kingdom Hearts collection for modern consoles.
If you look past big-name remasters, you'll also see a wealth of new RPGs on the horizon, including a new Fire Emblem and a turn-based game based on the book series Warrior Cats. All the games listed below are due out before the end of 2026, but with so many titles coming out, you may just be playing these well into 2027.
