VERDICT
Overview
If you value quiet luxury above all, we can think of no better SUV than the 2027 Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid. Unlike some of its rivals, it doesn’t shout about its premium status, and its cabin is built to turn your daily commute into your Zen time.
Under the hood is a 285-hp hybrid powertrain that delivers acceptable acceleration and decent fuel economy. Handling is relaxed, as nothing about the Nautilus is made for raising your pulse. In fact, Lincoln’s optional Rejuvenate feature is designed for relaxation thanks to massaging seats, scent pods, and relaxing visuals on the 48-inch dashboard display to give you the quiet driveway moment you may need before heading into a stressful board meeting or dinner with your in-laws.
Expert Tip: Lincoln also builds a nonhybrid Nautilus with a 250-hp turbocharged four. It isn’t any more exciting to drive, but it is a little less expensive, and its fuel economy is not much worse than the hybrid’s.

What's New for 2027?
A new grille and front bumper give the Nautilus Hybrid a bolder-looking face for 2027. The SUV's rear end is also tweaked with updated lighting elements and a new bumper. The wheel designs are new as well, with sizes ranging from 19 to 22 inches. Inside, a new Eminent Hour color scheme is added to the options sheet and features copper-colored ash wood trim; likewise, the Elysian Light theme is available on the top-spec Black Label trim and features cream-colored seats and light-blue accents.

Pricing and Which One to Buy
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
- Hybrid Powertrain: turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and two electric motors, 285 hp combined
- Transmission: continuously variable automatic
- Drivetrain: all-wheel drive
Handling is steady and a little more athletic when using the Excite driving mode, which dials in a firmer suspension setup. Doing so, however, allows more road imperfections to filter into the cabin, which distracts from the otherwise luxurious driving experience, something that we noted during a test of the Nautilus Hybrid.
0–60-MPH Times
- C/D 60-mph Test: 6.6 seconds
In Comparison: The Nautilus Hybrid managed a reasonable 6.6-second run to 60 mph in our testing. Most drivers will find this perfectly suitable for daily driving needs, but it's not as quick as the Mercedes-Benz GLE450e plug-in hybrid, which got to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds.
Towing and Payload Capacity
- Max Towing: 1750 pounds
Towing isn't the Nautilus Hybrid's forte. With the optional Trailer Tow package, it's rated to tow just 1750 pounds. Its rivals can all pull more, including the BMW X5 50e xDrive, which boasts a maximum towing capacity of 7500 pounds.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
- C/D 75-mph Highway Fuel-Economy Test: 30 mpg
- EPA City Rating: 29 mpg
- EPA Highway Rating: 31 mpg
The EPA rates the Nautilus Hybrid for 29 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined. On our real-world 75-mph highway fuel-economy route, though, the Nautilus Hybrid tied its nonhybrid counterpart at 30 mpg. For more information about the Nautilus's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
First Row: While the base model comes nicely equipped, the Nautilus Hybrid can be optioned with several over-the-top luxury features. Remote keyless entry, 10-way-adjustable heated-and-ventilated front seats, and a leather-wrapped, heated steering wheel are all standard. The range-topping Black Label comes decked out with a cashmere headliner, premium leather upholstery, and massaging front seats. But the lower trims can be optioned with some of that fancy stuff too, including Lincoln Rejuvenate, which is a spa-in-a-car feature that’s intended to help you relax by adjusting the interior lighting, seat position, seat heating, screen visuals, sounds, and massage settings. Three scent cartridges in the center armrest release aromas such as patchouli and fresh linen.
Second Row: There’s plenty of space in the back seat for passengers to get comfy too. The bench seat can fit three adults, but probably won’t satisfy for longer trips. A center armrest with cupholders flips down between the two outboard positions. Air vents on the back of the center console provide good airflow, and the rear seats are heated on Reserve and Black Label trims.
Cargo Capacity: In our testing, we fit six carry-on suitcases in the Nautilus's cargo bay; with the rear seat folded, we fit 19.
Infotainment and Connectivity
- Infotainment: 11.1-inch touchscreen, 48.0-inch dashboard display
- Connectivity: Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Audio System: 10-speaker stereo (standard), 14-speaker Revel stereo (optional), 28-speaker Revel stereo (optional)
Lincoln boasts that the 48.0-inch-wide display across the entire width of the Nautilus's dashboard is class-leading, but with the tape measure turned vertically, it's clear this is no IMAX theatre; it’s only several inches tall. While the widescreen layout is startling at first, you quickly adapt, and the system blends into the background, ultimately making it less distracting than a traditional infotainment setup.
Besides the four-foot-wide screen, there's an 11.1-inch infotainment touchscreen mounted atop the center console. From here, you can access radio controls, input navigation destinations, and make phone calls. The Nautilus comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while Amazon's Alexa voice assistant can perform tasks for you without having to touch the display.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
All Nautilus models are equipped with Lincoln's Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assistance features as standard. The Nautilus also comes standard with Lincoln's BlueCruise hands-free highway driver-assist technology.
- Standard Safety Features: automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control with a hands-free driving mode
For information about the Nautilus’s crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites.
Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
Although the Nautilus's powertrain warranty is longer than those of rivals like the Volvo XC90 and the Audi Q8, its bumper-to-bumper coverage doesn't push the boundaries of what the rest of the segment offers. Paying for the expensive Black Label trim adds dealership perks such as four years of complimentary scheduled maintenance, an annual detailing service for the first four years of ownership, and a culinary concierge for restaurant reservations.
- Limited Warranty: four years or 50,000 miles
- Powertrain Warranty: six years or 70,000 miles
- Hybrid Component Warranty: eight years or 100,000 miles
- Complimentary Maintenance: four years or 50,000 miles
