Prime Video's adaptation of Lee Child's Jack Reacher book series is an unstoppable force on streaming. Across four seasons (with at least two more to come), Reacher has dominated Prime Video streaming charts, garnering more than 200 million viewers to date. With the recent conclusion of season 4 of Reacher, Amazon MGM strategically expanded the action franchise with a spinoff that has since knocked Alan Ritchson's series from the No. 1 spot.

Now, Prime Video has a new streaming hit. It's been such a success that it's already been greenlit for a second season.

Reacher's partner claims the streaming crown

Since it debuted on Prime Video in mid-August, Reacher season 4 has dominated streaming charts. But after the TV series' season finale on Sept. 16, spinoff Neagley premiered and rode a wave of interest, giving fans another Reacher fix. All eight episodes of Neagley dropped at once, a gambit that has paid off for Amazon; Neagley is now the streamer's No. 1 show over the past few weeks. The spinoff series sits atop the charts in the U.S., U.K., and throughout Europe.

Reacher now has to settle for holding down No. 2.

Neagley stars Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, a private investigator in Chicago and former protégé of Jack Reacher in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. Sten co-starred in the first three seasons of Reacher, but in her stand-alone show, Neagley leads her own story. After learning that a friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hellbent on justice, putting herself on a dangerous path to uncovering a menacing evil. Neagley is based on the character created by Lee Child, but unlike Reacher, the series is not a direct adaptation of the author's novels.

The series also stars Greyston Holt, Matthew Del Negro, Adeline Rudolph, Damon Herriman, and Joel Keller.

Neagley season 2 is coming

Two weeks after Neagley's debut on Prime Video, Amazon MGM officially confirmed that a second season of the Maria Sten-led series is coming.

"Audiences around the world have embraced Frances Neagley as a force all her own," said Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios, in an announcement. "Maria Sten delivers a commanding, layered performance that drives every episode, and Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton have built a world that is both thrilling and compelling. We are excited to continue this story and explore what’s next for Neagley with our partners at Paramount Television Studios."

Amazon MGM did not announce a release window for Neagley season 2, but based on the first season's production timeline, Reacher fans likely won't get it until 2028. With Reacher season 5 expected sometime in 2027, Neagley season 2 should give fans of the action franchise something to tide them over until season 6.
