Fortnite's annual Halloween event is already shaping up to be one of its biggest Fortnitemares yet, and it hasn't even started. Epic Games has published the trailer for Fortnitemares 2026, revealing exciting details about what's to come, including all the fun horror franchise characters that will become available in Fortnite.

October is the best month for horror genre aficionados. It's spooky time all around: folks start putting up decorations and planning out their outfits, scary movies flood streaming services, and themed collabs hit video games. Even though Fortnite has a cartoonish style and an overall cheery vibe, it takes Halloween very seriously; each year, it hosts a major event riddled with creepy skins and fun crossovers.

Fortnite reveals array of horror franchise collabs for Halloween

Epic Games has posted 2026's Fortnitemares trailer, and it confirms that a number of exciting horror franchise characters are coming to the Battle Royale this Halloween. The reveals kicked off with Five Nights at Freddy's in a crossover trailer earlier this week, and they only got better with the cinematic trailer that went live today.

Fortnitemares 2026 will feature a Freddy Krueger skin (and boss, perhaps?) from Nightmare on Elm Street; Betelgeuse himself from Beetlejuice; Asta from Black Clover — probably to help you fight the bad guys; The Purge: Election Day's iconic Lady Liberty, who had already been spotted at Halloween Horror Nights; and one of the internet's most infamous horror characters, Slender Man.

Besides these awesome skin reveals, the trailer ends on an even more exciting note: the One Wish Willow from Obsession flashes on screen before Freddy Krueger slashes the camera and it all goes black.
