Lies of P is one of the most successful non-FromSoftware Soulslikes, having sold more than 4 million copies since its 2023 release. A post-credits scene hinted at where the series might go next, and a new trademark filing has all but confirmed what classic story the sequel will adapt.
[Ed. note: Spoilers for Lies of P's post-credits scene follow.]
Lies of P's post-credits scene reveals that the NPC you knew as Giangio is actually Philippus Paracelsus, and he had a role to play in what befell Krat. He mentions he needs to find someone named Dorothy, and the next shot shows someone walking around on Krat rooftops in ruby slippers. She then clicks her heels together.
What will the Lies of P sequel be about?
The Wizard of Oz references are obvious, and it certainly seems like developers Neowiz and Nough (formerly Round8 Studio) plan to follow through on that post-credits tease. Neowiz, which is also the publisher of Lies of P, recently filed a trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for a video game called Wonders of O, which smells a lot like an Oz-inspired Lies of P sequel.
Just like how Lies of P is based on Carlo Collodi's The Adventures of Pinocchio but never actually calls its protagonist "Pinocchio," it's possible a sequel will be based on L. Frank Baum's many Oz books but not call its setting "Oz." As Dorothy is heading to Krat in the post-credits scene, who knows — maybe the sequel never even goes to Oz, and instead brings Oz characters to Krat. Neowiz and Nough haven't shared any details about the sequel just yet.

The developers confirmed a Lies of P sequel was in the works shortly after the base game launched, but it's still without a release window. First, though, they made the incredible Overture prequel expansion (which launched alongside much-needed difficulty options). Lies of P recently came to Nintendo Switch 2, DLC included.
