Nintendo Direct September 2026 — Nintendo Reveals New Metroid, Kirby, and More for Switch 2

Nintendo Direct September 2026 is over, and we have all the announcements right here.

Highlights included the reveal of Metroid Ravenous, a new 2D, side-scrolling Metroid game, a new Kirby game called Kirby and the World Beyond, and a free update for Mario Kart world Tour.

But there were a number of games that were conspicuous by their absence. Perhaps the biggest offender here is FromSoftware's Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods, which fans had hoped would get a release date during the Nintendo Direct. This is a game currently down for release in 2026, so Nintendo is running out of time to either announce a release date or delay it into 2027.

We didn't see any more of the Ocarina of Time remake, although that was expected after yesterday's reveal, nor did Nintendo tease the next 3D Mario game, which was always something of a pipe dream. But we do now have a clearer idea of what's coming to Switch 2 for the rest of 2026 and into next year. So, what do you think? Let us know in the comments. And if you need a catchup, all the announcements are rounded up below.

That's a wrap!
