The Tesla Diner is one year old as crowds lined up to charge – and eat – at the highest-usage Supercharger in the world.
I visited the Tesla Diner in West Hollywood on July 21st (see video below) and it was busier than usual. Crowds packed into the diner and Skypad (rooftop patio). Tesla celebrated with servers on roller skates delivering orders, a Skypad DJ, and a phalanx of Cybercabs (4 in total).
When I arrived around noon, cars were lining up on both N. Orange Drive and N. Sycamore Ave waiting to gain access to the charging area. The scene resembled the Diner opening a year ago, which I also attended, when cars were backed up on both streets. What’s different this time is getting to the Diner, as both Santa Monica Blvd (which the Diner faces) and Sunset Blvd are seeing extended road work – some of it due to a water main that burst on July 16.
Diner Is Highest Usage Supercharger
The Tesla Diner in West Hollywood is the only one of its kind: a retro-futuristic diner, drive-in theater, and Supercharger station. No other Supercharger-diners currently exist. “It’s our highest usage Supercharger in the world: 21.2 GWh delivered in a year, 1.6k sessions/day,” said Max de Zegher, Director of Charging at Tesla, in an X post.

Tesla Readies Massive Facility In NW Los Angeles
Meanwhile, in the northwest corner of Los Angeles, Tesla is getting ready to open a massive delivery hub and service center in Chatsworth. It was formerly a Pacific Theatres multiplex.
Chatsworth is one of the bigger facilities due to the theater’s scale. The building is approximately 119,000 square feet and the site is 14.6 acres. Montebello is the largest in California at around 140,000 square feet. Tesla also has a large delivery hub and service center in North Hollywood, formerly a Kmart.
