Magic’s 2027 sets are breaking traditions and smashing worlds together

Wizards of the Coast unveiled a timeline for its 2027 Magic: The Gatheringsets at MagicCon: Amsterdam 2026, including a return to Kamigawa, a set focused on a lost fragment of Magic’s original plane, and a brand new underwater world. While there are still three more sets dropping this year — Reality Fracture, The Hobbit, and Star Trek — our interviews with the game’s designers revealed plenty more about the game’s future.
